This week is another cold, windy, and icy week. The soil in the backyard is frozen! The below-freezing temperature at night is not helping. The weather is just too cold for anything besides birds at the bird feeders.
However, I am trying to have some observation at night. I noticed that a pair of opossums and a pair of raccoons came for dinner. So I set up a camera to record it at night time. They are all looking for some meal in the garden area. I wonder what they were looking for because the ground was frozen. I feel bad for them because there are no “food” if they were looking for nigh bugs and worms. Hopefully, the weather will be better this coming week so every being can get some relaxation in this bitter New Jersey cold Winter.
Well, this week, I see lots of Common Grackle in the backyard. I also see more variety of birds (see the bird page), I wonder if it is due to I moved the bird feeder off the foot traffic area. Maybe a small change, can really help our feathered friends?
